What is the difference between sections and blocks?
Sections are the larger content areas on a page. Blocks are the smaller elements inside a section. For example, a testimonial section might contain individual blocks for each customer review. You control both from the Shopify theme editor.
What is Shopify Online Store 2.0 (OS2.0)?
OS2.0 is Shopify's updated storefront architecture that allows sections to be added to any page — not just the homepage. All Velvetica sections are built for OS2.0, so they work across your entire store.
How many sections can I add to one page?
Shopify allows up to 25 sections per page. In practice, most well-performing stores use between 6 and 12. Focus on quality over quantity — each section should serve a clear purpose.
Are Shopify sections the same as Shopify apps?
No. Sections are native files that live inside your theme. Apps are third-party tools that require ongoing subscriptions. Velvetica sections are one-time purchases — no monthly fees, no dependencies, and they won't disappear if a subscription lapses.

Are Velvetica sections compatible with the Horizon theme?
Yes. Horizon is one of our primary design and testing targets. All Velvetica sections for Horizon are fully tested, responsive, and conflict-free with Horizon's existing design system.
What other themes do Velvetica sections work with?
Our sections are compatible with all major Shopify OS2.0 Horizon themes including Savor, Ritual, Atelier, Vessel, Tinker, Fabric etc..Each product listing includes a full compatibility list.
Will sections work with my custom or third-party theme?
Most likely yes — if your theme is built on OS2.0 architecture. Minor styling adjustments may be needed depending on your theme's CSS. If you're unsure, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm compatibility.
Installation & Setup
Do I need to know how to code to install a Velvetica section?
No. Installation involves a simple copy-paste step in the Shopify code editor, then everything else is done visually inside the theme editor. If you can change text or colors in your theme, you can install our sections.
How long does installation take?
Most sections are live in 5 to 15 minutes. Every purchase includes a written installation guide and a video walkthrough to make the process as smooth as possible.
Will installing a section break my existing store?
No. Velvetica sections are added as new files — they don't modify any existing theme files. We always recommend duplicating your theme before making changes, just to have a safe backup.
Can I customize a section after installing it?
Yes. Every section is fully customizable inside the Shopify theme editor — colors, fonts, images, text, button labels, spacing, and more. No code needed.
What happens to my sections if I switch themes?
Sections live inside your theme files, so they don't carry over automatically if you switch themes. You'll need to re-upload the section files into your new theme — but since you own the files, there's no extra cost to do so.
